Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. I am raising money for the IBC Network UK charity by walking 140miles from 4th -31st October (4th October is IBC Awareness day)

I was diagnosed with IBC in December 2022. I completed my treatment in April this year which included chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery (mastectomy & removal of lymph nodes in my armpit) and radiotherapy. It wasn’t as bad as I expected!!

Unfortunately I have some complications from treatment, one of them being inflammatory arthritis affecting multiple joints, which is not under control as yet. So walking this far will be a real challenge for me at this stage.

The IBC Network UK is a small charity which raises awareness and funds for much needed research into this cancer, this is being undertaken at Birmingham University. It also provides invaluable support and information to those diagnosed with IBC.
