Story
I am fortunate to be able to run in both the London & Manchester. I didn’t need to raise any money but this cause is close to my heart.
This year I’m taking on two marathons to raise money for ME Research UK, a charity doing incredible work to understand and treat Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).
ME is a condition that is still widely misunderstood, despite the huge impact it has on the people who live with it. It can steal the simplest things — energy, independence, normal daily life — often without warning and without an easy explanation.
Why this matters to me
Someone close to our family, a young person with their whole future ahead of them has recently been affected by ME. Seeing how suddenly life can change, and how hard it is to get clear answers or support, has opened my eyes to how vital research is.
Their experience isn’t my story to share in detail, but watching them fight to regain stability, strength and normality has moved me deeply. It made me want to do something meaningful.
Why ME Research UK
ME Research UK funds biomedical research to uncover the causes of ME and improve diagnosis, treatment, and hope for the future. Better research means better lives, and I want to help push that forward in any way I can.
How you can help
Anything you donate, big or small, genuinely makes a difference.
Your support will carry me through the miles and bring more attention to a condition that needs it.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting a cause that now means so much to me. 💙
