Story

On Sat 13th Sep 2025, I’ll be completing the 72km Thames Path Ultra Challenge in memory of Lola’s (my little sister) best friend, Debbie, who sadly passed away from breast cancer on 12th April 2025 at only 42 years old, leaving behind a loving family, including two young sons.

Lola and Debbie were best friends since Year 7 and did everything together, so I had known Debbie a long time and we both had the honour of being joint chief bridesmaids at both of Lola’s wedding (sorry sis)!

My first job when I left school was actually working for Debbie’s dad (Dave) at Southern Water. To see him at Debbie’s funeral broke my heart. No parent should have to say goodbye to their child.

I am so pleased to be raising money and awareness for Cancer Research UK, who do amazing work and will be walking/jogging every km for Debbie and those touched by Cancer!

Cancer is such a horrible and cruel disease, taking away so many beautiful lives, way too soon!! Let’s do as much as we can to beat Cancer!
