Story

Hi lovelies thank you so much for visiting my page. I am running the London Marathon on the 21st April 2024 and raising money for the amazing charity Bowel Cancer UK. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. Last year my gorgeous Mamma was diagnosed with small bowel cancer after having symptoms for over a year with no diagnosis. In 2021 she started experiencing painful stomach cramps with some sickness and then it developed in 2022 to extreme weight loss alongside violent sickness and diarrhea. She was told by the Drs to try and follow a low fodmap diet, that it was IBS or perhaps side effects of the radio therapy from her previous cancer. A year later the symptoms were so bad involving vomiting blood that she had an MRI scan and the Drs found a large T4 Adenocarcinoma tumour which resulted in my Mum having emergency bowel surgery to have the tumour removed which was thankfully successful. She was then treated with chemotherapy which was terminated as her body didn’t agree with it. She was treated for large bowel cancer as small bowel cancer is so rare and under researched and there is no specific course of treatment. We are hoping in the future more funding can be sourced to help understand the best way to treat small bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer UK helps raise awareness of the symptoms so more people can recognise them, so they don’t get ignored and if it is bowel cancer they can be diagnosed early and treated appropriately. They fund research projects, provide support to patients/family members and educate the public and professionals about the disease. I am honoured to run for them.

Thank you so much for supporting me, my family, this amazing charity and all those who have been affected by bowel cancer. I will be planning some super fun fundraising ideas over the next few months so if you have any ideas or want to get involved please let me know would love to have you on board.

Lots of love, gratitude & positivity <3
