Well, with just a week to go this is a salutary lesson in just how big a mess flattery and blind enthusiasm can get you!

At their Commodities and Trade Finance Awards Dinner, TXF encouraged me to undertake a Challenge to raise funds for a charity of my choice on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award

I knew whatever I did had to be inclusive for my complex special needs sidekick, Carys. So my daughter and I are attempting to navigate the longest accessible trail in the UK in one day ( me walking/pushing, Carys enjoying the scenery in her three wheeled adapted buggy). 32 miles across the North Devon countryside from Braunton to Meeth in aid of Embrace.

Why Embrace? Well, without Embrace there wouldn’t have been a career. Without Embrace offering happy, stimulating holiday clubs for my daughter I would never have been able to navigate the long school holidays and keep all the plates spinning. Without Embrace there couldn’t have been any award so it seems fitting to bow out on that career by giving back to them

Do we think we can do this? To be honest I’m not sure but that’s the true definition of a Challenge.
