I have decided to run Ipswich Half Marathon in September 2023, to raise money for the amazing charity St. Elizabeth’s Hospice who looked after my beautiful Mum in the last few weeks of her life. I will forever be grateful for the love and care St.Elizabeth’s Hospice provided for my mum, as well as to my family in the hardest days of our lives as we watched my mum slowly lose her nearly year long battle to lung cancer and COPD. I don’t know what we would have done without their support and I want to be able to raise money so that other families can receive this support in their times of need as well.

My mum is my inspiration for this race, watching her fight against this horrid disease, and showing bravery and strength right until the end, I wanted to do something to challenge and push myself in order to try emulate even just a fraction of the courage she modelled to me. This will be my first half marathon that I have ever run, a big jump from my current longest run being a 15km run a couple of years ago
