I have very spontaneously agreed to take a place in the Liverpool Half Marathon Sunday 23rd March 2025..

I will be raising funds for the Jacob Billington Trust to keep me motivated during the run and to complete the half marathon for a good cause. Running for charity not only strengthens your body but also fuels your heart with the knowledge that every step brings hope and change to those in need.

Abit about the Jacob Billington Trust from their website:

Jacob Billington Trust was founded in 2022 by friends of Jacob and his sister. Their aim is to raise funds for the benefit of young people in the Sefton area; specifically to assist funding for young people's music education. The name and idea behind the charity was to create a legacy for Jacob.

Jacob's family and friends very sadly lost Jacob in 2020 when he was only 23. He has left a hole in their lives that cannot be filled. He was loved by so many for his humour, wit and energy.

Jacob was an extremely talented musician; trying his hand at guitar, bass, ukulele and drums among a smattering of other instruments. Jacob was a naturally gifted musician and was able to flourish thanks to the music education that was offered to him throughout his life. Hence why we thought raising funds for young people to have the same opportunities, all in his name, was the perfect way to honour his legacy.

Jacob Billington Trust Mission - Our mission is to ensure that every young person has the chance to pursue their creative arts passion, regardless of their background or socio-economic status. With the prices of everything rising, we want to provide vital funds to the young people who will benefit most; fueling their passion and improving their talent and mental health through music. Most of all, we don't want young people missing out on the fun of music because of factors that they cannot control!
