In memory of Siân Elizabeth Watson
Students from under-resourced backgrounds are three times less likely to make it to a top university than peers from more advantaged backgrounds. We support these students to access top universities through bespoke mentoring, skills-building coaching, tuition, and enrichment activities.

Story

Siân was this fiercely intelligent, bright burning star, full of happiness and joy, who cared deeply for others and always took the time to help others achieve their full potential.

Siân achieved incredible grades throughout school and went onto study Chemistry at Oxford and become a Solicitor at a Silver Circle law firm, Osbourne Clarke, in London. She did all this through a never ending determination and drive to work hard. She did not have a public school education but was lucky enough to have a hugely loving and supportive family.

Not everyone has that opportunity and Siân above all cared deeply for a sense of fairness. Not everyone starts life on the same rung of the ladder. Siân prided herself in helping others to be the best they can be.

That's why we would love to honour Siân through the Access Project. Everyone should be given the same opportunities to thrive and if we can bring a little more kindess and fairness into our world and get those kids who like Siân can burn so brightly the same opportunities as others, it would be a beautiful memory.

From all of Siân's family, thank you for your support. We miss her so much!

From the Access Project:

We are here to help talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds reach top universities so they can realise their potential and access a range of more rewarding careers.

We do this by matching each young person with two mentors, one-to-one, including a volunteer tutor.

This approach works: our students are 4x as likely as young people like them at other schools to reach a top university.
