Story
As part of the 50th Anniversary of The King's Trust, we will be raising funds to support young people across Wales by taking on the huge challenge of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and summiting on St. David's Day (1st March) in 2026.
As an alumnus of The King’s Trust, I can personally vouch for the remarkable impact of its work. In 1992, I was fortunate to take part in the Volunteers Programme, joining what was then the Prince’s Trust Community Venture in Llanelli at a time when I felt somewhat lost in life. The six-month programme offered a transformative opportunity for personal development through voluntary work at local, national, and international levels. It nurtured key skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, and social awareness—qualities that continue to serve me to this day, and for which I remain deeply grateful.
The King’s Trust believes that every young person deserves the chance to succeed, no matter what their background and despite any challenges they may be facing. Widening inequalities continue to harm the prospects of young people across Wales, and it was those who already face disadvantage and adversity who were most at risk of being left behind. Please donate to support young lives and help give our young people the best start in life and fulfill their potential.
The money raised by taking on this challenge and fundraising for The King's Trust will make a positive difference for young people across Wales.
