Story
I am a highly motivated and accomplished woman but there is one thing that tries to derail me after surviving 7 years on the streets of Scotland as a young girl. I have PTSD.
Recently I had an attack and I am blessed enough to be supported by PTSD Resolution as both my fathers were in the services. While I was suffering I refused to allow it to take me under and I wrote a poem and used AI to create an image of how I felt at that moment.
I want to share this poem with you and the artwork, if it makes you feel anything.... Just Give!!
Help me say thank you to PTSD Resolution for the support they show me and many others and help them to continue to do more.
Here is my Poem and artwork:

Echoes of Trauma
PTSD, you phantom of the past,
Did I think your grip had slipped at last?
Calm waters, relationships in bloom,
Joy abundant, dispelling all gloom.
But then, a headline, a trigger unseen,
You're back again, cruel and mean.
Muscles tense, sleep becomes a foe,
Stomach churning, tears begin to flow.
Images flood of all I've endured,
Abuse and suffering, once obscured.
The face in the mirror, a stranger's view,
Reflecting pain I thought I outgrew.
PTSD, will you ever set me free?
Can healing reach the depths of me?
Will surprise attacks forever lurk,
Derailing life with your cruel work?
Nighttime tears, restless until dawn,
Seeking support to help me go on.
Resolution beckons, a hopeful light,
To file away trauma, out of sight.
Insomnia strikes, mind wide awake,
Productivity from pain I'll make.
Cleaning becomes a frantic dance,
Mind, house, and heart get a second chance.
PTSD, a relentless tide,
Leaving no corner for me to hide.
But in this struggle, I'll persevere,
Until the day you disappear.
