Story
I am running the birmingham 10k on may 4th for Velindre, the Hospital of Hope who have been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years. Unfortunately in the last 12 months we have became a family in the care of Velindre, my amazing Uncle got diagnosed with an incurable cancer last year and is such an inspirational person who i look up to so much, he means the world to me. Everyday he continues to live his life making as many memories as possible and living life to the full (with soooo many holidays haha) we don’t know how long we have but we are grateful for everyday and i wanted to do something to help raise money for the people that are taking so much care of him.
The money raised for Velindre Charity helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more which are above those provided by the NHS – so donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families.
Any donation big or small is appreciated so much by all my family and wish me luck to get through this 10k haha
Thank you so much xx
