We have created and grown the most amazing projects over the past 14 years, each project created from personal experience with professional skills; hand in hand.

All projects we have created are designed with the intention of re-uniting siblings in care adoption and kinship care; in the most enjoyable and meaningful way. We create spaces where children and young people can experience a natural connection, doing things they enjoy with their brothers and sisters, facing new challenges and learning about teamworking.

We encourage and support young people to plan ahead, to expect continuity and strengthen these lifelong bonds as best they can given their circumstances. Their time together is a vital investment for their future, we have seen time and time again how vital these are as they grown and move on in their lives.

Many young people have chosen to returne to train as a volunteer with us over the years, which has been a real positive experience for the young people they assist as well as their own sense of giving back something quite special and unique. Keeping close friends with others in the process has also become a positive way of networking and forming new lifelong friendships.

The stress and trauma of separation and loss impacts many young people's mental health in care severely over the long term, there is often a failure by services to acknowledge this long-term impact. We know only too well how Careleavers are leaving care isolated, alone, estranged from siblings and friends, something which should not be ignored.

If we are to create support, nurture more contented futures, urgent attention must given to these fundamentally vital relationships. Our volunteers are a lifeline for our siblings and Careleavers groups they are consistent and enthusiastic with joining young people to make these very special and fun time for all.

We have the positive support and encouragement of an ever-growing network of volunteer quilters, from across the country who make the most incredible ‘unique gifts,’. These handmade quilts are a very important symbol of relationships and childhood memories, how they must remain intact safe and respected..
