Our fantastic #TeamMDUK runners are taking on the London Marathon 2026 to make every step count in the race to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

My brother, Robin, suffers from a very rare genetic disorder called Myotonic Dystrophy. Aged 53, all his muscles in his body are now affected and are failing badly. He is an inspiration to me and to so many others. Despite his daily challenges, he lives every minute of every day to the full and never ever complains. He is supported by his amazing wife, Jenny who is his full time carer.

Why the Phonebox I hear you say? I suppose it was about 'raising the bar' in terms of difficulty and in doing so hopefully catching people's eye (hard to miss in the bright neon orange MDUK colours). Most importantly for me it's about doing what I can do to shine a light on his story and this incredible charity. A few hours of pain comapred to what he deals with every single day, is a bit of a 'no brainer' for me.

By fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy UK, I’m helping to fund world-class research into effective treatments, and life changing support for the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

All donations and support are so greatly appreciated. Thank you! x
