Three Peaks Challenge - Siggers Family raising funds for the Rugby Gymnastics Club

Three Peaks Challenge
The Rugby Gymnastics Club is a huge part of our lives with Sophie and George training there for 35hrs/week combined. We are very excited that the club has finally completed Phase 1 of its custom built gymnastics facility, and the children are looking forward to having their first training sessions in the new gym this week! However, funds are still required to complete Phase 2, which will include a mezzanine floor for spectator seating and cafe.
After taking part in the Three Peaks Rope Climb challenge that the Rugby Gymnastics Club organised in 2021, Sophie (11yrs) and George (8yrs) were inspired to attempt the real thing. We were up in Scotland for Andrew to run the Edinburgh Marathon and the weather forecast looked perfect, so we decided to give it a go.
The Three Peaks Challenge consists of climbing the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. We started at the base of Ben Nevis at 18:04 on Sunday 28th May 2023 and summited Scafell Pike just after dawn. Then, after nearly being thwarted by Bank Holiday weekend traffic on the way to Wales, we finished at Pen-y-Pass (Snowdon) at 17:39 Monday 29th May 2023, completing the challenge in 23 hours, 35 minutes and 8 seconds.
The children were AMAZING throughout and, as we hadn't specifically trained for this event, we attribute their fitness, determination and perseverance to the gym training that they do - thank you so much to their coaches, Nikki and Sergiy!
