Craig Sawyer is raising money for Mikey’s World
In memory of Lost people and Mikey Roynon

Bristol to Amsterdam bike ride · 16 June 2025

Mikey’s World raise awareness of knife crime and support our community by providing Bleed Kits and the associated training. We are also members of the Avon and Somerset Bleed Kit Partnership where we fundraise to provide easily accessible public Bleed Kits. Continuing additional support, activities and awareness will be introduced as our journey continues. The ultimate aim… to stop youngsters and anyone else carrying a bladed weapon, or any weapon. Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page, and thanks for taking an interest.

I have decided to raise money for two charities that mean a lot to me and am taking on a solo 260 mile bike ride from Bristol to Amsterdam, cycling from Kingswood to Harwich Port (211 miles), jumping on the ferry to the Hook of Amsterdam and then on to Dam Square (49 miles).

My two chosen charities are, Suicide Prevention (Bristol) and Mikey’s World.

Mental health affects so many people in so many ways and the guys at Suicide Prevention do a fantastic job of helping people who are in very dark places.

The Bristol Team are part of Suicide Prevention UK, who are a UK-wide charity focused on reducing suicide rates by offering immediate support to individuals in crisis. Through their National Suicide Prevention Helpline and proactive patrols at high-risk locations, they ensure that those experiencing suicidal thoughts have access to compassionate help. Partnering with local authorities and emergency services, they strive to create a safer, more supportive society for all.

Something else that is also increasingly affecting people is Knife Crime. It’s destroying the lives of individuals, families and communities, and for what - a perceived show of strength by using a weapon - it’s pathetic and vile.

In June 2023, aged just 16, Mikey Roynon was killed in a knife attack at a birthday party in the nearby area of Bath.

I’ve been mates with Mikey’s Dad for years and took Mikey on as a part-time employee when he was 13. He was a proper grafter, got on well with the other lads and we also had a good laugh.

Mikey’s World was created by Mikey’s mum, Hayley, to give back to the local community in Mikey’s memory and I am proud to be part of the network who supports this charity.

Mikey’s World are raising awareness of knife crime. Bleed kits and training are provided by the Charity and through the network collaboration with Avon and Somerset Bleed Kit Partnership. Continuing additional support, activities and awareness are being introduced as their journey continues.

The ultimate aim… to stop youngsters and anyone else carrying a bladed weapon.
