St David’s Spinathon Challenge for Sight Life

Sight Life is St David’s Centre’s adopted charity partner, and on 13 May 2026 we’re thrilled to be taking part in an exhilarating spin cycle endurance challenge right here in the heart of Cardiff.

St David’s Centre is proud to be one of the teams going pedal to pedal in this high energy fundraising event, where teamwork, determination and community spirit are just as important as fitness.

🚴 The Challenge

• 6 teams. 6 bikes. 6 hours.

• Each team tag teams one spin bike, keeping the pedals turning to clock up the kilometres.

• Team target: 150km in 6 hours

• Collective ambition: 900km across all teams in one day

But this challenge is about far more than distance. It’s about raising vital funds and awareness for Sight Life, a charity supporting blind and partially sighted people across South Wales.

Throughout the day we’re aiming to:

• Keep the pedals moving non stop

• Create a buzzing atmosphere in the centre

• Engage shoppers with music, a Spin to Win wheel, and special guest appearances

• Raise £2,000 for Sight Life

Your support will help Sight Life continue their essential work with people living with sight loss, helping them stay connected, independent and able to live life to the fullest.

Formerly Cardiff Institute for the Blind, Sight Life is one of Wales’ oldest charities, supporting people across Cardiff, Swansea and Rhondda Cynon Taf through:

• Home visits and 1:1 support

• Community groups and social activities

• Digital skills and assistive technology advice

They support 4,000 people each year, with:

• 90% feeling less isolated

• 80% feeling more independent

• 74% feeling more active and healthier

With sight loss predicted to double by 2050, this work has never been more vital.
