Story

I’m diving in for a cause close to my heart ❤️

In just over 2 weeks, I’m taking on a swim to raise money for a cause that means a lot to me! 🏊‍♀️💙

Swimming in the sea has always been a passion of mine — and, more often than not, a necessity rather than a hobby. It’s something passed on to me by my dad, for whom the sea is more than just salty water — it’s a balm for the soul 🌊✨

So last year, when I heard that the British Heart Foundation was organizing a charity swim in Bournemouth, I decided to join.

For one, heart disease has affected my family for generations. And although for some people dear to me it was too late, others — like my dad — have been lucky enough to benefit from incredible surgeons and medical care that helped them stay healthy 🫀👨‍⚕️

And for two, the swim takes place between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers — the very same piers featured in Tommy Clarke’s stunning first short film 🎥🥰 That felt like more than enough signs that I had to sign up ❤️

At the time, I was postpartum and had very little time or energy to train… but I told myself I’d have a full year to prepare. 😬😬😬😂😂

Here I am a year later — and honestly, I definitely don’t feel ready — but the cause is too good to give up 💪❤️

Every day, research funded by the British Heart Foundation is saving lives — through better diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart disease. It’s work that gives families more time together, and brings hope to millions affected by heart conditions.

I’ll be swimming for those we’ve lost, for those still fighting, and for a future where heart disease no longer means heartbreak ❤️‍🩹
