Silva, a remarkable individual, has overcome numerous challenges since birth due to Congenital Rubella. This condition led to bilateral cataracts, hearing loss in one ear, and heart defects. Despite enduring 27 procedures under anaesthetic and living with additional conditions such as Nystagmus, Anterior Segment Dysgenesis, and Glaucoma, Silva remains resilient.

Berkshire Vision, a remarkable charity, provides vital support to individuals with visual impairments like Silva. Through their activities, Silva has discovered a community of friends who understand her perspective and accept her for who she is. This year, Silva is participating in the Reading Santa Run to raise funds for Berkshire Vision. By doing so, she aims to raise awareness about visual impairments and challenge societal misconceptions about individuals with sight loss.
