26 mile walk to raise awareness about Strokes · 17 August 2024

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

In the words of Destiny’s Child, I’m a Survivor! I was struck with a Ischemic stroke, on the tube, I looked drunk and only after nine stops did someone help, I’m doing this walk to raise awareness. If someone is helpless and writhing in pain, just take a second to check they’re okay. I’m lucky that one guy helped or I wouldn’t be in the condition I’m in now.

When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.

I’d like to raise a thousand pounds to help the Stroke Association who helped me in my recovery. This is my thank you to them, so if you can help, please do. If you can’t then, thanks for stopping by.
