Story
Back at the beginning of this year, during what must have been a lapse of concentration on my part, I was persuaded to sign up for Club Peloton's Explore 24 charity ride for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
It wasn't until 6 weeks ago that I actually checked out the route and terrified myself. As you will see below, the route is no breeze, particularly the second day of 185km and 2,350m of climbing. But so it should be, if we are asking you to part with your hard earned cash.
Of course, the main reason you might sponsor the team of 6 from British Land is to help Cyclists Fighting Cancer in their wonderful mission to assist children receiving treatment for cancer regain their physical fitness and experience the joy of cycling that we all take for granted.
I realise there are many worthy causes so any sponsorship (and / or words of encouragement) you can provide will mean so much to all of us taking part.
Best wishes,
Simon
Club Peloton is the charity and real estate cycling community transforming the lives of young people. Since 2006, it has given over £5 million in grants to projects that make a real difference.
Over three days, riders will ride 440kms from Rimini to Rome. Each one has committed to rigorous training in order to take on this arduous challenge, which includes climbing 6,500m.
Explore 2024 aims to raise £40,000 for Cyclists Fighting Cancer, enabling them to build activity zones at four children’s oncology centres throughout the UK, providing junior exercise equipment including recumbent and upright exercise bikes, star walkers, and elliptical trainers.
Providing these activity zones ensures that young people are able to maintain a good level of activity at all stages of their cancer journey and beyond and has a huge positive impact on their physical, mental and social wellbeing.
Thank you for your kind and generous support.
