Story
As part of Team WTW, I am taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge for Children with Cancer UK. It is a charity that is very close to our Hearts. Our son Bertie had a cancerous brain tumour in 2008. We had tremendous support from an extended network and the Teams at the Marsden and St Georges were brilliant. Without the kindness, advice and support of the network, it would have been an even harder journey. Fortunately Bertie got through the 2 years of Chemo and Radio and 15 years on, is now a Community Coach with Surrey County Cricket Club. If CWC had been around then, it would have made a massive difference. Somewhere that would have given the support in a more centralised way, rather than relying upon lots of individuals and their kindness for that support.
CWC’s goal is to fund research and initiatives, that support children and their families through their cancer journey and is one of the leading children and young people's cancer charities in the UK.
