Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page.

Beginning on 11th April 2026 I'll be walking the last 100 Km of the Portuguese route of the Camino de Santiago over 6 days to raise funds for St Vincent De Paul (SVP). This is a wonderful opportunity to walk alongside others sharing the same goal and I am really looking forward to it.

Every penny given goes to the charity and does not cover any of my expenses. 50% of funds raised will go to SVP National to be used for any purpose that contributes to SVP's mission and 50% raised will be given to support the work of my local SVP group in Canterbury where we seek to befriend and give practical support to people in many different ways, providing supermarket vouchers, white goods, and other essentials. We work closely with other statutory and charitable agencies in the area and, as part of the SVP East Kent District, we belong to a team of people dedicated to helping those facing challenging circumstances in whatever ways we can.

As part of the run up to the Camino, on Wednesday 12th November, a team of 26 golfers, including pupils from Canterbury Academy and Orion Spires Academy, 'Drove the Camino' at Canterbury Golf Club's Driving Range. In under three hours the team totalled 109.294 Km with their shots equalling the distance I'll be walking. Thank you to all the golfers, young and older who took part and thank you for your donations which were a real encouragement to achieve our goal.
