Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Thursday 4th September 2025, some close friends and I are planning to complete our third and final section of the South Downs Way, and walk 100km in two days from Winchester to Arundel on our own to raise money in memory of my amazing daughter Lola, who died in 2021 from cancer.

Over the last 4 years you have all been very generous, and we have raised over £14,000 for various children's cancer charities by completing organised walks covering the South Downs Way from Eastbourne to Arundel so far.

The events have been amazing (but very physically, mentally and emotionally challenging), but this year it feels right to push the boat out and complete the last 100km of the South Downs Way "au natural", just us, our rucksacks and our inane chat....no organised hikes, no marshals, no first aiders, no food stops, no portaloos.....just us making it up as we go along and doing our best to raise as much money as possible for a charity that has helped to support my family when we needed it most.

Through this effort at fundraising, I can only hope to show a fraction of the strength, determination, bravery and hope that Lola managed throughout her illness.

It's wrong that any child should face such a cruel disease, and it's unimaginably tragic for any family to have to cope with the physical, emotional and financial challenges that a child's cancer diagnosis brings

Please give what you can to support an amazing charity, and to remember the bravest teenager I know.
