Dad (Alan) had Alzheimer's disease. He also loved to skim stones whenever we were on a beach.

In September I shall travel with Cath to the Inner Hebrides, Easdale Island to be precise. You see, having attained the age of 60 I am determined to step on, not back, and if I can skim a stone "just" 63 metres in a straight(ish) line ... and hit the wall ...

... at the World Stone Skimming Championships 2026 no less ... well, that will be a step up on any sporting achievement I have previously ticked off.
