Story
In September 2018, everything changed.
Out of nowhere, my wife Julie, suffered multiple seizures.
Admitted to hospital, later that week, Julie was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
What felt like a long process unfolded resulting in Julie enduring a craniotomy. The operation was as successful as it could be. Due to an infection, Julie underwent a 2nd craniotomy followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Despite all the above, Julie has maintained unwavering strength and positivity. Ultimately allowing our family to remain "normal"
I'm in awe every single day.
Julie is continually monitored via MRI scans to ascertain any change.
Fortunately, everything is stable currently.
For many years, I've wanted to do something meaningful, to contribute and make a difference. This desire was not a personal mission, rather an individual representing his family, with a commitment to help improve the lives of those affected by brain tumours.
This desire led to multiple failed applications to run the London Marathon for The Brain Tumour Charity. I didn't want to run for any other cause.
I was both surprised and deeply honoured to secure a place in the 25 April 2027 event, and incredibly grateful for the opportunity.
To represent The Brain Tumour Charity is an absolute privilege. This privileged opportunity won't be taken lightly, it will be dragged kicking and screaming to the finish line in April.
I'm committing 100%, I'm not just turning up and running 26.2, there will be months of training, hard work & dedication with an aim to smash the 2027 London Marathon.
It's going to be tough, loads of miles, early mornings and a shattered body but this is it, time to make a difference.
The ultimate aim is to raise a significant sum of money, create hope and improve the lives of those affected by brain tumours.
Your help in turning this opportunity into a significant contribution to the charity, will be received with sincere, heartfelt gratitude.
If you're able to donate, big or small, we'd be extremely thankful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

P.S. 75 people make up the 2027 Brain Tumour Charity London Marathon Team. I’ve been introduced to the team recently and I’m incredibly humbled by their stories. I wish the 75, their families and friends all the very best for the future. I'm honoured to be amongst you.
This is it, time to make a difference.
