Simon's fundraiser for Aerobility

Simon Goff is raising money for Aerobility

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Aerobility is a UK charity that changes lives by providing the disabled community access to the magic and wonder of flight. Flying offers the ultimate feeling of freedom and escape from the restrictions of disability.

Story

This will be my first Marathon!!! I’ve competed in several half marathons before but I’ll be entering unchartered territory in April. Most of you will know that I'm a keen runner and also keep fit playing football, golf and drinking Guinness so I’m hoping there’s enough life left in these veteran legs to get me over the line.

Why Aerobility? My Sister Rebecca, who is the Operations Director for Blackbushe Airport, told me about the charity who are based there. I was intrigued and wanted to learn more about what they do. I was amazed at how accessible flying was for people within the disabled community and immediately I felt that I wanted to help raise awareness. Most people will take flying for granted, but very few will actually fly a plane. Aerobility not only makes accessing an aircraft and taking to the skies a reality, it also makes it possible for people with a disability to fly the plane themselves. Between now and the London Marathon in April I want to raise as much money as I can but also to do all I can to help raise awareness and help more people achieve an ultimate feeling of freedom and escape from restrictions of disability.

Training is underway and I’ve started upping the distance of my runs but I have an 18 week training programme which I will start proper towards the end of November. Thanks for visiting my page - I will take great energy and support from your generous sponsorship between now and April 26th 2026 and rest assured your donation will go towards making a real difference to the lives of people right here in the UK.

Up, up and away!!!!!!!!!

More about Aerobility:

Aerobility provides anyone, with any disability with access to the magic and wonder of flight.

We do this because taking the controls of an aircraft drives a focus on capability and encourages our flyers to ask the question 'If I can fly an aeroplane, what else can I do?'

This makes everything else in life feel that little bit more achievable, whilst offering the ultimate feeling of freedom and escape from restrictions of disability.

Flying with Aerobility can deliver increased life ambition, leading to improved life opportunity, driving many of our beneficiaries toward more independent and personally fulfilling lives.

Aerobility represents the needs of those living with disability in to aviation and is recognised as the leading expert in disabled flying.
