Story
As Woburn Golf Club Captain for 2024 my chosen charity is Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents (SSNAP), in loving memory of my son James, who sadly lost his battle with heart complications in the operating theatre at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, in 2003, at 6 weeks of age.
SSNAP was founded in 1982 and has supported the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital ever since. The unit can care for up to 56 babies at any one time and is a Level 3 Centre. The most sick and premature babies from across the Thames Valley, are looked after there in Oxford.
When newborns need specialist, often lifesaving, medical care at birth, it can be a traumatic time for parents. SSNAP are there to support families, fund equipment and enable research.
They are remarkable and dedicated people reliant on charitable donations to provide this invaluable service.
Thank you for your support which is greatly appreciated.
