I am raising money to support Alzheimer's Society, a charity that is close to my heart and which aims to beat Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Around a million people in the UK currently have a form of dementia, and up to 1 in 3 of those born today will develop dementia during their lifetime.

As part of this unique fundraising event, I will take on the challenge of completing 100 laps of the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground outfield - approximately 50km / 30 miles in a single day. Inspired by the achievement of scoring a century at Lord’s, the challenge will test determination, resilience and endurance, all in support of a cause that touches millions of lives. Plus it will clearly be the only chance I will have to record a century at Lord's. While I expect it to be long and difficult, it will be nothing compared to the hardships that those impacted by dementia suffer daily.

If all goes to plan the day will end with me walking up the famous Lord’s steps - hopefully unaided - into the Long Room to celebrate as a centurion.
