Story

On 14th September my oldest son (Will) and I will be abseiling down six storeys of the Richard Salt Building at Good Hope Hospital in support of Good Hope Hospital Charity.

Although neither of us have a head for heights, and expect to be quite nervous stepping off the edge of what must be one of the tallest buildings in Sutton Coldfield, we couldn't resit this fantastic opportunity to push ourselves to the limit and support the Good Hope Charity.

I was born on the maternity ward in the Fothergill block over half a century ago, and was appointed as Good Hope Hospital Executive Director in October '23. In my role I spend as much time as I can out and about, talking with colleagues and listening to what really matters to them. I see my role very much as an enabler; making Good Hope the best place to work, and the best place for our patients.

The Good Hope Hospital Charity supports patients, families and staff by providing those added extras which cannot be provided by the NHS. All donations are gratefully received, and all funds raised will go towards improving the environment for our patients.

You're more than welcome to sign up and join me and Will if you too would like to take part or just come along and support if you can.
