Running 5k Every Day in 2025
Those of you that know me will know I've done these types of "Running Streaks" before, and in fact attempted to run 5k every day in 2021, but I had to give up in the end after running on a broken foot for 4 weeks!!
I'm now about a stone heavier, and several years older and so as I approach my 50th Birthday in 2026 I am planning on 2025 being the year I become the fittest I've EVER been, so alongside running every day I'm also planning a number of changes to my diet - watch this space.
Running 5k every day is a significant challenge that shouldn't be under-estimated. It's as much (if not more of) a mental challenge than a physical one. I will run through every season and every type of extreme weather, I will run every day regardless of how busy my day is at work, I will run on days when I'm travelling (which I do a lot of), I will run when I'm feeling like I really can't be arsed, and at some point I will run when I desperately want to give up.
This is where you lot come in, your donations are what spur me on, it is the sole reason for giving my head a wobble and making me go out when I really could do without it, so please give as much as you feel able to, every amount no matter how big or small is equal in my eyes because people should only give what they can comfortably afford to. If you could donate the cost of your latte and go without today, that would be super!
Finally why the National Autistic Society? Well, both my kids are autistic and knowing that I am contributing in some way to supporting other families who are having the same challenges we do is good enough for me. Oh, and when I finally get to the front of the queue it is pretty likely that I too will be able to join the exclusive (but super cool) autismo gang.
