Simon's fundraiser for POINT

Walking the Cumbria Way (73 miles in 5 days) · 8 June 2024
Once parents receive an autism diagnosis for their child, they can feel lost and overwhelmed. Help is limited to parent run groups and charities, especially when it comes to understanding that diagnosis and getting help for your child.
POINT, was established in 2010 by parents and carers of children with additional needs and disabilities in Oldham. Their mission was to ensure that parents and carers had access to information, advice and support, to ensure their voices were heard and that their children reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
In the last 12 months I have personally witnessed what a valuable and important service POINT provide to parents helping them to help their children and it is for this reason why I am taking on this challenge to walk from Ulverston to Carlisle through the heart of the Lake District.
