I’m learning to dance to raise money for Comic Relief.

This summer, many thousands of Sainsbury's colleagues are taking part in Move for Meals – walking, running, wheeling and jumping and doing all sorts of challenges and activities to raise as much money as we can for Comic Relief.

It’s all part of our commitment to ensure every family has access to good food, so no child goes hungry. With 1 in 6 parents in the UK saying they’ve had to put their children to bed hungry, or without enough food, at least once a week, our ambition to bring good food for all of us has never been more important.

And that’s why we’ve got a big, bold goal to raise £30 million for Comic Relief by 2030 - doubling our impact to donate 120 million meals since our work begun together on food insecurity in 2022. And every move, every step, really counts!

So as we all Move for Meals, I’ve just started my own big challenge. I’m going to be stepping a long way out of my comfort zone and learning to dance. And not just with anyone - I'll be training with ‘Strictly’ professional dancer, choreographer, TV personality and Comic Relief supporter Katya Jones.

Katya is a passionate advocate for Comic Relief, who have been such an incredible partner to us for over 27 years now.

If together we can raise more than £100,000 for this challenge by the end of September, Katya and I will perform the finished routine and share the video with all our colleagues and then at the Sainsbury’s Big Bash supplier event in December.
