Fire Walk

Street Storage was established in 2019 to allow people on the street respite from the physical and mental strain of having to carry belongings with them everyday. Long term and short term, we give people security and freedom and we have an immediate impact on their everyday lives.

Story

We didn't start the fire...🔥

But on May 10th, we are walking on it. Well, hot coals, to be exact.

I've worked for Street Storage for three years now and have seen first-hand the countless times storing belongings, for free, for people experiencing homelessness has been life-changing.

When I joined we were receiving around 10 requests per week. Now, it's often 10 per day, sometimes more.

We store essentials like clothes, work tools and personal documents, but also special items which hold personal value. We have, believe it or not, even kept safe the ashes of loved ones!

Despite our best ever fundraising year, demand for what we provide is such that the need remains. Which is why three of us, me, Lilian and volunteer Gary will be heading to St Martin's to walk on actual hot coals.

Anything you are able to give makes a huge difference - thank you!
