Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We love all dogs, and the people who love dogs too. We care for dogs in need through our network of 22 centres across the UK and Ireland, finding them loving new homes. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©

Story

On July 31st 2023 I will travel to Tanzania to attempt to conquer the highest single free-standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the '7 Summits of the world' at 19,341 ft.

The route I will be taking is the 'Machame route' which is a 6 day round trek to the roof of Africa. The route takes in some of the world's most incredible scenery and passes through 5 different climate zones from lush forests and jungles at the base of the mountain to grasslands, alpine desert and the fearsome arctic zone (-20) for the final climb commencing at midnight throughout the night.

Yes, the main driver here is personal achievement, but it would be a shame not to take up this opportunity to raise money for my chosen charity Dogs Trust. Dogs Trust is a British animal welfare charity and humane society which specialises in the well-being of dogs. It is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK, caring for over 15,000 animals each year. Dogs Trust's primary objective is to protect all dogs in the UK from maltreatment, cruelty and suffering.

Any donation however big or small will make a difference and together we can make a lasting impact and contribute to giving hope to our less fortunate four legged friends.
