1MWD fundraiser for Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Benevolent Fund

Simon Woodhall is raising money for Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Benevolent Fund

10 Mile Tyre Flip · 24 September 2025

The DMRC Benevolent Fund purchases special goods and services for patients' rehabilitation, beyond that which is provided by the public purse. We create opportunities for patients to engage in social activities, which lets them forget about their injuries and rehabilitation for a few hours.

Story

On the 24 Sept 25, a team of 8-10 from 1 Military Working Dogs (1MWD) are going to be taking on a gruelling challenge to raise money for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC). The team will be flipping a large tyre continuously for 10 miles aiming for a time of under 10 hours.

DMRC is a world-class facility that provides life-changing care and rehabilitation for injured members of the UK Armed Forces, helping them recover physically and mentally after serious injuries or illness.

This challenge represents just a fraction of the strength and determination shown by those who go through rehab at the centre every day. Every donation, no matter the size, will help fund specialist equipment, therapies, and support that our service personnel truly deserve. Please support the 1MWD team and this incredible cause!
