Story
In August 2022, our lives changed forever when I lost my fiancé, and our children lost their dad, Dan Lee.
Dan was a man who lived his life in service to others. He spent eight years as a Royal Marine and sixteen years with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, serving as both a Firefighter and Watch Manager. But to us, he was so much more than his uniform — he was a loving partner, a devoted father, a loyal friend, and someone who always put others before himself.
Dan believed deeply in teamwork, resilience, and community. He was passionate about the people he worked alongside and the communities he served, and he gave everything he had to protect others. Those values are the heart of the Dan Lee Mil Race.
This race was created in his memory — not just to remember how Dan served, but who he was. It brings people together to challenge themselves, to work as a team, and to honour a man whose life was built on courage, commitment, and selflessness.
The Dan Lee Mil Race is a non-profit event, raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity and The Fire Fighters Charity — two causes that represent the careers and communities that shaped Dan’s life. Every step taken, every donation made, helps keep his legacy alive and supports the people who continue to serve others every day.
Thank you for supporting this event and for remembering Dan. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can ever express.
