Story
In October last year I had a screening with Calon Hearts and found out, to my total surprise, that I had suffered a silent heart attack. I was immediately instructed to go to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for an Angioplasty. I’ve been incredibly lucky. Since then I've been focusing on recovery and have set my sights (with approval from the amazing cardiologist - Dr Aldalati) to walk up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to raise funds for this incredible Charity without whom I may not be here today.
Less than one in ten people will survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. But survival rates can be increased significantly if a defibrillator is used and CPR is performed. That's why Calon Hearts have made it their mission to ensure communities all over Wales have access to defibrillators and are trained in how to use them. They also provide heart screenings to detect life-threatening heart conditions that often go undetected. Their fundamental goal is to save lives in Wales.
Any contribution would be gratefully received and thank you in advance.
