Story
As you’ll know my Dad, Roger Ennis (otherwise known FIL, Grandad Bon Bon, Rog or ‘that bloke in the corner blathering on about wine or aeroplanes’) was given a rather crappy cancer prognosis approximately 1 year ago today.
You’ll be aware he doesn’t want sympathy or anyone really talking about it. That said, thanks to the Primrose Unit in Bedford Hospital, that crappy prognosis now looks a heck of a lot better…
After seeing an advertisement mid January from Great Ormond Street suggesting running 100km in February, I duly signed up (think the offer of a free t-shirt helped)!
Fast forward a couple of weeks and a good friend who happens to be a surgeon completely pisses on my parade by informing me that Great Ormond Street is one of the best funded hospitals in the entire world (who’d have thought) and there are likely many charities or organisations who would value the donation more.
Logically there was only one option from here!
Having been away the first week of Feb and also planning on losing a few days to drinking and the accompanying hangovers at a good friends wedding mid month, I haven’t left myself many days…. I also f’cking hate running.
So go on, be a good sport and throw some money in the kitty…
Update 14.02.25 - sharing the page now I’ve got a 40KM under my belt!
