Simon's Resilience Walk 2026 - from Blackpool to Hinckley (132 mile walk home)

Simon Cooper is raising money for Refreshment UK

The Resilience Walk 2026 · 2 January 2026

At Refreshment UK, we are passionate about bringing mission to the heart of a community and providing a hub where churches can work together to provide help and hope seven days a week. The 400 Club is our campaign that helps make this reality.

Story

On Friday 2nd January 2026 at 10am, Simon will leave the Refresh Centre Blackpool and walk to Hinckley – a distance of 132 miles and aim to arrive in time for a service in Hinckley in the evening on Sunday 4th January 2026.

The route will go down through Manchester and across the Peak District. Managing through the night with head torches and minimal rest, Simon will continue to walk and pray to make it to Hinckley on the Sunday. He will then sleep!

Simon is famous for walking and praying everywhere, and resilience challenges. He did a marathon on an athletics track with 105 laps and believes that this is appropriate and we move from a year of prayer into a year of renewing the mind. The early part of the route past Manchester is on pavements and avoids main roads.

A breakfast at the Refresh Centre on Friday 2nd January 2026 before the start at 10am and a celebration in the service in Hinckley would be appreciated at the end.
