Story
Suzie and I had always wanted to cycle the length of the UK from Lands End in Cornwall to John o' Groats in Scotland. The shortest route is 900+ miles but we chose to do it following the brilliant, largely traffic free Sustrans route (now known as Walk Wheel Cycle Trust) which is 1200 miles. We had never undertaken such an ambitious ride before, over 3 weeks, cycling unsupported and carrying our own luggage. We wanted to be sure we could achieve our objective before launching our fund raising campaign!
Suzie rode on an e-bike and I rode on a pedal bike which turned out to be a good combination!
We’re raising money to help build Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital. It will bring clinical teams and researchers together under one roof to find better ways to detect and treat cancer earlier, and to get new treatments to patients more quickly. Put simply, it’s about improving what happens when someone you care about is diagnosed with cancer.
Like many people, we’ve seen how cancer affects friends and family, which is why this feels so important to us.
