Story
Simon Wright, who sadly died last May, was a very special member of the Moss Hey family and we would like to honour his memory in school.
Simon supported Moss Hey as a parent; always attending and helping out at PTA and school events. Through his role as a school governor, his contribution was invaluable and he was an active and passionate advocate for our school. His support extended to all staff at school as he helped us to be the best that we could be for all our pupils. He was full of life and nothing was too much trouble - we really did appreciate him and continue to miss him very much as a governor and a friend to us all at Moss Hey.
Simon was the perfect fit for our school with his creative yet strategic thinking, kindness and positivity. Now we face the daunting task of how we create a memorial that is the perfect fit for him. A close friend of Simon’s shared that he always joked about having a bench when the time came, so we thought a ‘buddy bench’ for the school playground would be a good place to start.
We want to do more though, so that he is always remembered and so that he continues to be a force for good at Moss Hey - we will work with Simon’s family to achieve this. We are looking at 'bereavement support for schools' amongst other options as well as a donation to the British Heart Foundation in his name too.
Any donation to Simon’s collection will be greatly appreciated - he was a special man who will forever be missed at Moss Hey.
