We are running in the Dingle marathon on Saturday September 2nd 2023. We want to achieve 3 things......

1. Celebrate Sinéad

2. Raise awareness about Ovarian cancer

3. Raise some money for OvaCare

Sinéad Dinneen was simply one of the best people you could ever meet. She was so talented.....a musician, a visual artist, world stone throwing champion plus so much more, but most of all loved by everyone around her especially Damian and her two boys, Daniel and Isaac. In 2013 following. an ovarian cancer diagnosis Sinéad boarded a roller coaster and in the years that followed showed us all how to live life in full and face anything that came her way. In November 2019 we had to say goodbye to Sinéad, she was only just 47.

Running this marathon is going to be hard, really hard. Both of us are busy mums to young kids so training simply cannot be a daily top priority and we are not elite athletes by any stretch of the imagination!! However we have a secret superhero power and that is the inspiration from how we saw Sinéad ride that rollercoaster. We know our 'battle' on marathon day won't be a patch on the gracious and powerful fight Sinèad fought but we want to do it to recognise Sinéad and all amazing women who have, currently are or sadly will in the future have the same fight. Whatever happens, however long it takes, we promise we will cross that finish line for you all!

So please join in with us....talk to all the ladies in your life and tell them to have a look at OvaCare website. Their goal is to improve diagnosis and education of ovarian cancer within Ireland, through sharing global research and best practice, and providing support and advocacy through OvaCare’s dedicated support network.
