Channel Relay Swim · 27 August 2024

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

I love a challenge and adventure, but I think this is my biggest one to date!

In August 2024, I will be attempting to swim from Dover to France - with no wetsuit - as part of a relay that is expected to take 12-18 hours.

To put the Channel swim into context, it's 1,352 lengths of a 25m swimming pool, and more people have climbed Everest than swam the English Channel.

I am proud to be doing the swim on behalf of a fantastic charity, Aspire. Every four hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury, and Aspire provides the essential equipment and support needed to help those affected live an independent life.

Thank you so much for your support and remember every pound counts!
