Siobhán O'Hara is raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity

Team: Team fundraising for Beatson Cancer Charity

Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026 · 25 April 2026 to 26 April 2026 ·

Beatson Cancer Charity supports people affected by cancer, every step of the way. We make the journey easier by transforming the way cancer care is funded and delivered. We provide services, as well as funding specialists, research and education to invest in a better future for cancer patients.

Story

We are Lou’s Crew, a group of friends taking on the Glasgow Kiltwalk in honour of our beautiful friend Louise, who faced stage 4 cancer with incredible strength and bravery. She was an amazing mum to two teenage boys, a loving wife, and truly one of the strongest, kindest people.

We’re walking to celebrate Louise's courage, and to show our love and support. We’re raising money for Beatson Cancer Charity, whose care and compassion have supported Louise and her family throughout the last 3½ years.

I'd also like to give back to the Beatson for the support and care it has provided to some very special people in my family over the last couple of years. I know being in such a caring environment has given them relief and allowed them to cope with the day to day challenges of cancer. The staff who work there are truly special people. Having worked in fundraising at the Beatson with Teenage Cancer Trust and then BCC itself, I know how important events like the Kiltwalk are to the charity's annual income and I'm very happy to be on the other side of fundraising for a change.

Every donation, big or small, helps the Beatson keep providing hope, comfort and vital care - and it means the world to us and to everyone who loves Louise.💕

Thank you for reading and cheering us on as Lou’s Crew 🫶🏼
