Story
On Sunday 17th March Siobhan and I will be taking part in a Firewalk in aid of Meningitis Now!
When I was 10, I was hospitalised with meningococcal septicaemia. I am exceedingly lucky, and due to the quick actions of my parents and the A&E doctors I came through my experience with only an obscene amount of cuddly toys and a few cool scars to invent stories about (my favourite involves several pirates and a daring rescue).
Whilst survival rates are increasing year on year, those who find themselves more severely affected by this disease have day to day impacts that can alter lives far beyond the weeks spent in hospital. Charities such as Meningitis Now ensure that the lives of those touched by this illness can be lived with dignity and joy.
Please support us with whatever you can, every penny counts to this amazing charity.
