Story
I'm fundraising for the incredible Neuro-Oncology team at Cardiff Hospital, who dedicate their lives to supporting people with brain tumours and conditions like mine. I was diagnosed with a rare brain disease named Encephalitis in July 2022 which started from Meningitis, which led to me being placed in an induced coma and forced me to take a long break from rugby—something I love playing and putting my Family, Friends and I through a horrible time. Since then, the road to recovery was a very long process with help needed from many different people after a long period in Intensive care where my family and friends were put under severe stress, the Neuro-Oncology team has provided me with constant care, monitoring me regularly and ensuring I can live my day-to-day life without fear or worry. Their support has been nothing short of amazing, and I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without them. To give something back, I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon in their honour—every step I take is a thank-you to the team who continue to go above and beyond for me and so many others and ask for nothing in return. Thanks to these amazing neurologists, I can play rugby stress free and had some amazing experiences such as winning everything with my youth rugby team Burry Port, representing Perpignan (South of France) in rugby and study/play rugby at Cardiff Met where I’ve had some amazing experiences and met some great mates.
