Welcome to Al Furqan Islamic Centre, Manchester. Our mission is to develop a representative organisation for Muslims in Britain, to educate and develop our community, and to promote the noble values of the Islamic faith to all humanity.

Al Furqan Centre began as a project to help the troubled youth of our community, as well as the community at large. Starting as a single room for prayers and functions, we have since grown with our Manchester community to form an all-around Islamic centre. Today, we make use of the entire building to help prepare future generations and bring our community together.

We are able to do this through:

-Alfurqan Academy which is a supplementary school that runs under Alfurqan Islamic Centre. It teaches Noorania, Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies to students from the age of 5 to college students.

-We organise Youth Work that helps young people learn about themselves, others and society through activities that combine enjoyment, challenge, learning and achievement.

-Sisters’ Corner is a Muslim youth organisation, based in Alfurqan Islamic Centre. Sisters’ Corner was set up and organised by a group of sisters who were inspired to make a change in the community.

Such initiatives come at a cost and as we continue to grow through our social media exposure we need funds to expand the masjid and facilitate this to continue providing the high quality work we’ve done so far.

This is the bottom line: we cannot continue doing our events, projects and activities at the high quality and quantity without the money to invest in the house of Allah and planning future projects as having the funds makes it 100% more likely to happen.

Here are a couple reasons as to why you should donate:

1. Doesn’t Reduce From Your Wealth

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said “Charity does not decrease your wealth” (Muslim 2588)

Allah says “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” [al-Baqarah 2:261]

2. It Protects You From a Calamity

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

3. It Is A Good Deed That Never Ends

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: SADAQAH JARIYAH (ongoing charity); knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous offspring who prays for him (for the deceased).” (Muslim)
