St John Ambulance Cymru - West Wales Emergency Vehicle Appeal

St John Ambulance Cymru Dyfed County is raising money for St John Ambulance Cymru
As a Welsh charity we rely on donations from the public to carry out our lifesaving work. We support local communities across Wales. By supporting us, you be can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. Our mission is to provide first aid training for everyone, anytime, anywhere.

Story

Every day, in the heart of West Wales, our dedicated St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers face moments where every second counts. In these rural, coastal, and remote communities, the first few minutes of a medical emergency can mean the difference between life and death. Our team is on the frontline, responding to 999 calls, providing immediate lifesaving care, and supporting the NHS when they need it most.

We see first-hand the unique challenges West Wales presents: vast distances, difficult geography, and rising demand for emergency care. Yet our ability to meet these challenges is under threat. Our ageing vehicle fleet is stretched thin, limiting how quickly and effectively we can respond to emergencies or provide medical cover at major events like Pembrokeshire County Show.

This is why we urgently need your support. We are raising £80,000 to fund a new emergency vehicle dedicated solely to West Wales. This vital resource will empower our Volunteer Responders to deliver early intervention with essential equipment right where it’s needed, whether at a 999 call or a large community event, saving lives and easing pressure on local healthcare services.

Imagine this vehicle arriving swiftly when someone collapses in a village or when a child is injured at an event. It will bring not just medical care but hope, reassurance, and expertise at people’s most vulnerable moments.

Your contribution will be a direct investment in saving lives now and securing faster emergency response for years to come across rural and coastal West Wales. Together, we can protect our communities and ensure that help is always close by when it matters most.

We are raising funds to buy a new emergency response vehicle for our Dyfed region. If we have donations left after the purchase, or we are unable to buy the exact vehicle, we will spend your donations on buying a similar vehicle or equipment for our key community work.
