iF Charity supports Palestinians through a variety of relief and development programmes. The charity aims to empower the people of Gaza in their efforts to build strong and resilient communities through poverty relief, education, community development and medical aid.

Story

Hello, this is Inma (or Rasca, my roller derby name), I am taking on the challenge of skating the length of the Gaza Strip (41 Km) to raise funds in aid of people in Gaza. Like many of you, I am devastated by what’s happening and cannot stand still any longer, so I have chosen to skate to raise funds for iF Charity. I will be setting off from The Kelpies and will likely be skating for about 3.5 hours on Saturday 27th September.

You can join the fundraising by coming with me to skate and I will add your name here (you don’t have to do the whole way, and you can come in any form of wheels you’d like) and/or by sharing this fundraiser to help make this campaign more visible.

Please make a donation if you can. Every penny will go to help the people in Gaza. There is no bread. No clean water. No gas. No safe passage. Only fear, hunger, and the constant sound of drones and missiles.

I have chosen iF Charity because they have many ongoing projects and provide aid in multiple different ways, including children, medical aid and financial aid.

Please read more about the charity on their website, here’s a little bit of what they do:

IF Charity continues to deliver hot meals, food parcels, and other essential aid in Gaza, despite the escalating risks.

As part of our Education Aid programme in Gaza, our team provides educational resources and support for temporary learning spaces in tented camps. These makeshift schools were set up to provide basic education and structure for children.

Our Medical Aid projects focus on addressing the health status and wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable people in Gaza, including the elderly, people with disabilities and children. The support we provide includes the provision of medicines, medical disposables, financial aid and recreational activities.

This is a chance to contribute towards aid but also show that the Scottish skating community will not stand still in the face of injustice.
