Thank you for taking the time to read our page!
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Ski4All Wales' charitable status. We both volunteer for this charity and Mia's an adaptive ski instructor. We both get to witness week in, week out how amazing this charity is.
Every Wednesday we welcome children and adults with physical, neurological or visual needs to come and ski. We can easily have around 30 skiers with us every week. The club is run completely by volunteers and has no guarantee income from grants or otherwise to continue with their work. The charity is completely dependent on fundraising efforts and generous donations to continue.
The charity was set up by physio's who recognise the rehab and developmental opportunities that skiing has to offer, it improves balance, cardiovascular health, flexibility as well as muscle strength. Plus it's a lot of fun!
We have specialised equipment that supports our skiers, be it through sit skis, kart skis, ski pilots, slide uniques and so much more. The range of equipment we have enables everybody regardless of needs the opportunity to ski. But specialist equipment that makes skiing accessible is expensive.
Ski4All Wales is about so much more than the skiing, it's a community. It's a support system where skiers, their carers and families can come along and spend time outdoors supporting, encouraging and socialising together.
This is why we are raising money for Ski4All Wales.
